BT today announced a major expansion of super-fast broadband in Surrey, with Merstham residents are among those included in the latest phase of BT’s £2.5 billion roll-out of super-fast fibre broadband in the UK.
The high-speed technology will become available to homes and businesses by Spring 2013 and will take the number of South East’s homes and businesses being passed by the new super-fast network to more than 2.6 million.
Cllr Mark Brunt – Merstham Councillor
I am delighted to see Merstham’s need for super-fast broadband recognised by BT and welcome their decision to invest our community.I lead a successful campaign in 2002 to get Merstham connected to broadband and so I am really please to see that its finally going to get the broadband boost the community needs.
I am hoping to work with BT and the Merstham Community Facility to enable this speed boost to be made available to even more local people.

Hi,
I recently found this article, and wondered if the date had changed as BT show a date of End 2013 not Spring?
Is their an update?
Has there been any word about when BT Retail will be letting people sign up to the ADSL 2+ service (up to ~20/24 meg), as the Merstham exchange has (apparently) been upgraded as of November last year (or thereabouts): http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/LSMERS
Paul,
I have not had any word about ADSL 2+ but I can see if I can find out.
Mark
