Free Christmas Parking days

Parking%20logoTo support local traders this Christmas the Council is holding free parking days in each of the borough’s four town centres during the festive season.

The move aims to help traders and shoppers alike and offers the prospect of saving up to £5.00 for a day’s parking in the Council’s car parks, meaning Christmas shoppers will be able to afford to spend a little more on their presents.

The Council is holding free parking days in each of the borough’s four town centres during the festive season.

Cllr Allen Kay, Executive Member for Regeneration, said: “The Council is offering free parking in its Banstead, Horley, Redhill and Reigate car parks for one day in the run up to Christmas as a goodwill gesture.  We are keen to help residents and local businesses during the current economic climate.

“The free parking dates have been arranged in consultation with each of the four towns’ business groups, in order to fall on days that will be of most benefit to both traders and visitors.

“I hope people will use this opportunity to visit their local town centres and make the most of what they have to offer.”

Reigate

Meanwhile, all 535 spaces in Bancroft Road, Bell Street and Upper West Street car parks in Reigate will be free on the day of the town’s Christmas Extravaganza, Saturday 5 December, when Santa lands in Priory Park by helicopter, welcomed by the Mayor of Reigate & Banstead, Cllr Richard Mantle.

Redhill & Horley

Free parking in Council run car parks in Redhill at Gloucester Road, Marketfield Road, Clarendon Road and Linkfield Corner, and the Victoria Road, Library and Central car parks in Horley on 19 December will provide shoppers with another 629 free parking spaces.
