Sport Relief comes to Battlebridge – Sunday 21 March

SR-IN SUPPORT CMYK The Battlebridge Sports Ground is set to host one of Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile events on Sunday 21 March and is calling on local people to show their support and sign up to take part.

The event in Battlebridge Lane, Merstham, will feature one, three and six mile routes to raise money for Sport Relief. Participants don’t have to run – they can walk, skip or even hop the course.

1 Mile – is a fun challenge for everyone

3 Miles – is the perfect distance for those who want to step it up a notch

6 Miles – is for those who really want to go the distance.

The fun starts at 10.00am. Alongside the mile events there will be fun activities for children and other sporting activities and demonstrations taking place, making it a fun day out for all the family.

Cllr Adam De Save, Executive Member for Leisure and Wellbeing, said: “If you want to get active, raise money for charity and help poor and vulnerable people both here in the UK and across the world, come along to Battlebridge on 21 March and join in the fun.

“From toddlers with their mums and dads, to more serious runners competing against the clock, there will be something for everyone on the day – whether you do one, three or six miles.”

Comic Relief will spend the money raised through sponsorship help transform the lives of those in desperate need across the UK and the world’s poorest countries.

Anyone interested in entering should log on to www.sportrelief.com to sign up.
