Make sure you fill in the electoral canvass to keep your vote!

The Council sent over 58,000 registration forms to household in the Borough as part of the annual electoral canvass which runs from September to November. Residents are urged to fill in and return their forms quickly, or take advantage of the facility to complete the form online or by mobile phone. If people do not respond the Council has to spend council tax funds sending further letters and visiting homes individually.

Council confirm General Election count arrangements

Reigate & Banstead Returning officer has confirmed his intention to count the votes from this years General Election directly following the close of polls rather than on the following day as previously through.
This change of approach follows both a national and local campaign to “Save Election Night”.

Don’t lose your chance to vote at year’s general election?

The Council is urging Merstham residents not to wait until the date of the general election is announced before registering to vote.
Registering to vote only takes a few minutes. You can either print off a Register of Electors form (pdf) from the Register of Electors page Council’s website or telephone the Council’s Help Line on 01737 276000.
