A public meeting to discuss the Post Office's proposed closure of the Nutfield Road Post Office has been called at Canada Hall on Saturday 9th Feb at 12:30PM.

The meeting, to be hosted by local councillor Mark Brunt and Reigate MP Crispin Blunt will be held at the Canada Hall, Battle Bridge Lane, Merstham, just a short distance from the threatened post office branch.
The aim of the meeting is to rally local residents to the campaign to Keep Our Post Office Open and to demonstrate support for our local post master Surendra Patel who would lose his job as a result of the closure.
Residents at this meeting will be urged to write to the Post Office to express how important the Nutfield Road Post Office is to this community and confirm their objection to the proposed closure.

"We were only notified of Post Office's intention to close this branch on Monday, since then the residents and businesses of the area have shown that they are not going to accept this closure without a fight. Already many people have written to the Post Office with their objections and detailed a campaign plan has been drawn up to fight the closure.
This Public Meeting is just the start of our campaign and we intend to keep up the pressure right up until the very end of the Post Office's meager 6 week consultation period. If the Post Office are determined to close this branch then we will not let them do this without a fight." Cllr Mark Brunt
