Travellers heading to Gatwick Airport during August are being urged to leave extra time for their journeys because of roadworks on the M25.
Resurfacing work around junction seven of the motorway, in Surrey, will run for a month from 30 July.

The work will be done at night to keep disruption to a minimum but people driving to the Sussex airport are being warned of road closures and diversions.

The Highways Agency has said the new surface will be quieter and smoother.

"The surface needs to be replaced and we advise any members of the public heading to Gatwick during August to allow extra time," said project manager Tim Lyver.

The agency said closures on slip roads, the main carriageway and the M23 link road would be fully signposted in advance.
